Science… Everyone's favorite subject right…? Well a few years ago you may laugh at me for saying that but nowadays science in GCSE is genuinely an enjoyable subject. Students get the freedom to incorporate practical in their studies. I mean what active child likes to sit in a classroom and take notes all day long. No one does and this is what sets science apart from the rest. Practical subjects have taken over to become a vital part in a student's learning experience. Science is a very important subject to learn, and above all it is interesting. Sure there may be some boring stuff, as with any subject but science is an interesting subject that is growing in popularity. Science is everywhere, it dictates our lives and there have been remarkable achievements in the world because of science. Learning about the human body is something that is fascinating, I mean how much do you really know about what each organ does. Another enticing topic is space, learning about the big bang and the many different planets in our solar system appeals to the majority of people.
Despite the positives GCSE students have been warned to expect disappointing science grades this year as a "toughened-up" syllabus and strict marking guidelines take their toll. Long went away the fun of science as mentioned above, still it can be everyone's favourite lesson and you can truly enjoy it. The new syllabus for the exam was devised to make it tougher following Ofqual's concerns that the previous syllabuses "didn't adequately test the subject content and weren't sufficiently demanding. The only negative is with the strict marking now enforced it will become harder than ever for a student to do well in their favourite subject. Science is a great subject to learn but students should be warned, however much fun their lessons are, the work is and will be extremely hard
